play sessions & activities

Build and Play Go-kart sessions

Go karts are a new play activity of ours, we come into your setting with wood, wheels, bolts, etc where we help the children build go karts, they can follow our design or try their own, after they have finished building they can then play on them.

Den Building

Den building is great fun for children, we bring with us sticks, pegs, camo netting  etc.

Den building kits are also available to loan for all Network members.

Messy Play Session

Messy play sessions consist of many different messy activities such as play dough, clay, gloop, slime, jelly, soil, beans, custard, etc. To access our play sessions you must be members of the Network, we simply ask a small donation is made to cover the cost of materials. By becoming a member you will also have access to our themed boxes and our resource library.

Arts and Crafts

For our arts and craft sessions we bring with us lots of different arts and crafts and  ideas. Depending on the time of year we will bring themed resources such as Halloween, Xmas, Diwali, Easter etc. Also if requested we will bring some candle making kits. Candle making is a fun play session using numerous different coloured wax and pots.

Scarecrows

This is a relatively new session and proving to be extremely popular.

We bring a really big scarecrow wooden template out and get the children to help us dress and decorate it (as shown on the left), we also bring resources to make  mini scarecrows for the children to take home and put in their gardens or pot containers .

For more Scarecrow pictures check them out on our Facebook page.

Waste Not Project

Another new session we offer, where there are no boundaries to a child`s imagination in making whatever they want to make.

For our Waste not sessions, we bring in lots of resources such as egg boxes, carboard boxes, plastic trays, kitchen rolls, etc.   On the right is a simple Play Network boat made from a kitchen roll and a plastic tray - but how about making a fire eating dragon out of a recycled egg box or a medieval castle from a shoe box and some kitchen or toilet rolls.

Wood Play

Our wood play sessions can be making whatever the children want to make, or to just simply play with the tools.  Lee`s bird houses like the one pictured to the left, are brought out to a setting cut out and ready for the children to make up.
